PATH Academy Sets Sights On Fall Success

PATH Times PATH Academy Sets Sights On Fall Success Trenton, New Jersey

June 4th, 2022

The past two seasons for the PATH Academy men’s football team has been filled with ups and downs. After a successful fall campaign that led to a conference championship win and shot at championship the spring was not so kind. Even though we lost some players signing elsewhere in the spring the PATH Pirates were hopeful for success but fell short of a playoff birth and finished the spring at 3-5. As with every season it’s important to stay healthy and the Pirates suffered injuries that saw the roster fall from 45 to just 21 by the end of the season. While the Pirates fought hard in every game it wasn’t enough with this level of competition. Now the Pirates set their sights on the future.

With a quick turn around for the season the Pirates are looking to gear up and surpass their success from last fall. With a handful of solid recruits confirmed and returning a solid core roster the Pirates look to return to depth and form this summer in the League of All Leagues (LAL) which has some familiar faces as well as new teams to compete against.

PATH Academy Owner and Defensive coordinator TJ Malave had this to say:

”I feel good about our direction. What we have built over the last 12 months is a great foundation. We have won games, been competitive and continue to build out our program in the right direction. Coach Turk has been great for us and we know he has the ability to help us be successful for a long time. Right now our focus is on improving every aspect of our program and continuing to bring in the right guys with the right mindset. We know there is a high level of competition but we also know that when we are fully manned and focused we can play with anyone. This spring our injuries were absolutely a defining factor, thats just football, sometimes you get the short end of the stick but it’s how you respond to adversity that matters. We have a shared vision here and we will work tirelessly until we achieve it.”

The next season is quickly approaching and the Pirates are looking to make a statement.

Stay tuned for more from the PATH Times!
